Lion

A warm 130 m² family house in Kaunas — oak, olive corduroy and full-height shelving under soft skylight.

The brief

A 130 m² family house in Kaunas for owners who wanted their home to feel relaxed above all — a house where children, guests and quiet evenings all fit without the interior ever feeling precious. Durability mattered as much as beauty.

The concept

Daylight leads the design: a central skylight washes the living space in soft overhead light, met below by a plaster-beamed ceiling and a full-height oak shelving wall that turns the family’s books and objects into the room’s decoration. An olive corduroy sofa — deep, forgiving, made to be lived on — sets the tone for the whole house: warm house interior design that welcomes rather than impresses. Bedrooms and a guest WC continue the same oak-and-clay language, so the home reads as one calm, continuous thought.

Materials

Oak joinery and panelling, olive corduroy and linen, textured plaster, warm-toned stone and matte black fittings — a hard-wearing natural palette built for real family life.
